Overweight and obesity become public health problem in Indonesia which may increases risk for degenerative diseases, communicable diseases
and mortality. Online nutrition education is an innovative, efficient and cost-effective method for nutrition intervention to solve overnutrition
among workers. We aim to investigate the effect of nutrition education with mindful eating approach via hybrid learning (MESO) on weight,
macronutrient intake and mindful eating status among overweight workers. This type of research used Quasi Experimental research design
with pre-post test control group design. The research was conducted in June - July 2019 with a sample of 46 people in Mandiri Taspen Bank,
23 people in the treatment group (MESO) and 23 people in the control group (GENTAS). The results in both control and treatment group
showed that the intervention was significantly improved weight, macronutrient intake and mindful eating (P≤0.05). However, there was no
significant effect of intervention on protein intake among control group (P≥0.05). Independent analysis showed that there was no significant
difference in weight loss, macro nutrient intake and mindful eating (p≥0.05) between the treatment group and the control group. Although
both groups shows significant improvement in terms of energy intake, but the improvement shows greater among treatment group compared with
control group. In conclusion, nutrition education program via hybrid learning with or without mindful eating approach show promising
alternatives to solve overweight and obesity among workers.
